Fresh and airy oil on canvas depicting the artist's table littered with the brushes, bottles and paints of his trade two velvet-soft, red geraniums in terracotta pots and the ceramic statue of a white horse. A warm breeze lifts the curtains on this sunny afternoon.
Ernest George Beach, painter in oil, watercolour and pastel of portraits, genre and landscape. Born in London studied art in London and Paris. Exhibited from 1888-1922 at the RA, SS and elsewhere. Titles at the RA '"Goodbye!" Holland', 1898, and 'The Cottage Meadow', 1908. He worked extensively in France, Holland and Belgium. Lived in London and in Dover and Hythe, Kent.
