Smashing, bustling,1930's, French, oil on panel depicting a picnic next to a river.

In the foreground seven chums partake of a sunny picnic. The chap on the left is offering the girl in the red dress a cucumber (answers on a postcard please). Ripe peaches tumble onto the grass and a guitar is abandoned - waiting for a bit of gin gan
goolie at dusk.

On the right a fellow, his sleeves rolled up, swigs wine from a flagon.

In the middle distance a group of party goers join in a circle of dance their arms outstretched.

Over the turreted bridge a red roofed, tram trundles by.
