Vibrant still life by listed French artist Anne Reneau Golly (1922-2008) depicting pom- poms of red flowers in a cerulean blue jug. Richly painted with some great over painting, see for example photo 3, the neutral buff panel over painted with bright tangerine. Strong and fulsome, an exercise in colour and solidity.

About the Artist

Golly was born in Gangloff at Zimmersheim 1922 and was a self-taught painter.
Golly exhibited in galleries and shows in Paris, Lyon, Mulhouse,
Montpelier and Strasbourg.

She largely painted still lifes, landscapes and the people of the Alsace region of France.
