Mid-century Painting, 'Four Women,' by Lennart Rosensohn
Part abstract, part post impressionist this painting portrays four woman eep in discussion, bundles under their arms and pots on their heads. The figurative work is superb, the forward curve of the woman on the right and she eases the weight with a wide-footed stance, the square set of the female next to her, the angled shoulders of lady number three. The colour is richly applied in thick luscious strokes of liquorice and toffee.
