Huge Contemporary Painting, 'The Enchanted Wood', Poppy Ellis

Large decorative painting by British artist, Poppy Ellis, depicting a table covered in Duncan Grant fabric. A Bristol Delft mug from 1720, painted in iron-red, blue and sponged in green with a fox between trees, with the inscription, 'beware of the fox.' Wild roses and rosehips in a Staffordshire Pottery, Red Riding Hood spill vase. A plate decorated with a racket of blackbirds. A cluster of freckled, blue eggs and, charmingly, the Tale of Squirrel Nutkin.

Ellis always delights with her narrative pieces, a vibrant cacophony of collage, colour and pattern.
