Sandhills Studios is a creative collaboration between Poppy Ellis and Marc Taylor.

From their dog-barky studio on the south coast of Kent the husband and wife team explore genres outside their usual portraiture and still life repertoire, from ceramics to abstract painting, drawing inspiration from the dramatic coastline and hinterland of Romney Marsh.

Both artists work on the same canvas, Marc might create the background and texture with Poppy adding the colours and forms.

Each canvas is a joint enterprise with the artists playing a creative game of, 'to me, to you.' Pulling each other backwards and forwards and yelling, 'STOP!' at the appropriate moment.

It takes endless bickering and cups of tea to create the perfect piece. An area in which Poppy and Marc are well qualified.
